WHEN LIFE DOESN'T TURN OUT THE WAY WE HOPED IT WOULD?
Click red button in the upper left corner to hear Beatles, "Paperback Writer"
There are 3 volumes of this book. Volume 1 deals with my Viking genealogy and life (from birth, grade school, adolescence) up to receiving my orders to board the USS Gridley (CG-21). Volumes 2 and 3 introduce you to ship-board life and Navy activities aboard ship; and then, we shove off for WestPac (i.e., West Pacific Cruise) to Hawaii, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong, and Japan. Upon arrival at each port, a background is given about the port, the culture, the people, the topography/geography, the climate, etc. You will then go on liberty with this sailor showing you brilliant colorful pictures of these beautiful ports and bringing you to experience all of the fun activities partaken in the midst of a bunch of kissee face and hanky-panky. Enjoy the travel and pictures as you experience the journey. Buy all three (3) volumes at amazon.com. Thanks for your love, for your support, and for helping to feed this hungry Disabled Veteran. Thank you again for your consideration, and please write a review for each volume at amazon.com and/or onlinebookreview.org.
Tom Wick (1) served a tour in the US Navy during the Iran Conflict, (2) holds an MBA (i.e., Masters of Science in Business Administration) with the emphases in Marketing and International Business, and (3) worked in almost every accounting department offered by Corporate America. Tom earned numerous awards in college, he traveled the Orient while serving aboard a guided missile cruiser on active duty in the US Navy, and he experienced more in his first twenty-one years of life than most men experience in a lifetime. Tom’s childhood was scarred by persistent physical, emotional, verbal, and sexual abuse. His brother and sister began forcing drugs and alcohol on him when he was only five years old. His family now dead, Tom felt it was time to tell his story. He firmly believes his autobiography will encourage and influence people to improve their quality of life by confronting and conquering their own demons and dysfunctions. Tom wishes you well on your journey. “Remember…Life is not a problem to be solved; but rather, it is a journey to be experienced with all five senses—and an abundance of gratitude” (Author Unknown).
This autobiography presents the lineage, birth, and the first 21 years of Tom's life; and if it sells, he will write the second half of his life next. Note: If this book sells, then an exhaustive and professional genealogy of Tom's Viking heritage will be included in the next installment of this autobiography, representing the second half of Tom's life; wherein, you will also read about (1) his motorcycle accident that resulted in the traumatic amputation of his right leg above the knee which occurred a year after the end of this book; (2) his trip to Belo Horizonte, Brazil; (3) his trip to the Amazonian Rainforest in Brazil; (4) his graduation with an AA (Associate of Arts), BA (Bachelor of Arts), and MBA (Masters of Science in Business Administration) degrees; (5) his role as a peg-leg pirate in “Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl” (that gig got Tom his SAG card); and more. Stay tuned, and please tell your friends to buy Tom's book and write a review—thank you.

This autobiography began as a "4th Step" in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA): We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves; after I outlined my youth, I began a genealogical research which drew me in and engulfed me with desire to finish the book. Motivation for fleshing out the outline of my AA "4th Step" is as follows: "It is my hope that my story is cathartic, helps normalize similar issues, and encourages you to press on, prompts you to face your demons and address your personal issues, and compels you to love and embrace yourself as the incredibly unique creation who you are because you TRUELY are an amazing being. I wish you well in your journey to wholeness."
